About this course

BSc in Medical Innovation and Enterprise, a human biology degree centred on the intersection of medical science and commercial enterprise. Core topics include Mathematical Modelling, Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, and Entrepreneurship. Students complete a substantial independent research project in the final year. The first year covers the foundations of human physiology through Foundations in Human Physiology and Cellular Biology, Cardiovascular and Respiratory Function in Health and Disease, The Gut, Liver and Drug Metabolism, and Kidneys, Hormones and Fluid Balance. The second year introduces management principles and practical techniques via Molecular Basis of Disease, Techniques in Molecular Medicine: A Practical Approach, Understanding Management, and Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice. Optional modules in the second and third years allow specialisation in areas such as Cancer Biology and Therapeutics, Radiation Cancer Biology, Precision Cancer Medicine, and Nanotechnology in Medicine. The third year concludes with advanced studies including Entrepreneurial Finance, Entrepreneurship in a Global Context, and a Research Project.
