MSci Neuroscience
Entry requirements
A level: AAA (Chemistry required plus one from Biology, Life and Health Sciences, Mathematics or Physics.) IB: 38 points (A total of 18 points in three higher level subjects including Chemistry and one subject from Biology, Mathematics or Physics, with no higher level score below 5. For Mathematics, the course will accept either ‘Analysis and Approaches’ or ‘Applications and Interpretation’ at higher level.)
About this course
MSci in Neuroscience, a biomedical science degree centred on the scientific study of the nervous system. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Mathematical Modelling, and Research Methods. The course is delivered within a major neuroscience research community in Europe through a four-year integrated master's format. The first year covers core foundations through modules such as Foundations of Life, Organisms, Evolution and Ecology, Molecular Cell Biology, and Cells to Organisms. The second year introduces specialized laboratory and computational skills through Human Neuroanatomy, Essential Molecular Biology, Cellular Neurophysiology, and Introduction to Python for Neuroscientists, alongside optional topics like Developmental Neurobiology and Perception. The third year centres on an Advanced Dissertation in Biosciences, complemented by optional studies in Molecular Basis of Neuropsychiatric Disorders, Pain, and Metabolic Neuroscience. The final fourth year requires an MSci Extended Research Project in Neuroscience, supported by optional advanced modules such as Developmental Neuroscience, Peripheral Nerves and Associated Diseases, and The Brain in Action.
