About this course
MSci in Pharmaceutical Sciences, a School of Pharmacy degree focused on the discovery, development, and evaluation of medicines over four academic years. Core topics include Statistics, Research Methods, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The curriculum is delivered in partnership with industry and incorporates extensive laboratory and research components. The first year covers core foundations through Pharmaceutics I, Medicinal Chemistry I, Pharmacology I, Introduction to Healthcare Systems, and Computer Science, Maths and Statistics for Pharmaceutical Sciences. The second year progresses with Pharmaceutics II, Medicinal Chemistry II, Pharmacology II, Introduction to Pharmacoepidemiology, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The third year builds advanced knowledge via Advanced Pharmaceutics, Advanced Medicinal Chemistry, Advanced Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences, Research Skills, and Advanced Investigative Project. The final year centres on an independent Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Project alongside optional modules allowing specialisation in areas such as Anticancer Personalised Medicines, Nanomedicines, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and Advanced Structure-Based Drug Design.
