Entry requirements
UCAS tariff points You will need one of the following: 112 UCAS points (standard offer), or 96 UCAS points (contextual offer) Read more about contextual offer eligibility. Points must come from a Level 3 qualification listed on the UCAS tariff calculator. Accepted qualifications We accept: A Levels in at least two subjects including Grade B in Biology or Chemistry BTEC Extended Diploma – DMM (standard) / MMM (contextual) in Applied Science or relevant (science-based subject) BTEC Diploma – D*D* (standard) / DD (contextual) at least Merit in relevant subjects Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject T Levels in a relevant subject International Baccalaureate – 24 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level, including Higher Level Grade 4 in Biology or Chemistry We also welcome applications from students who are taking Level 3 or higher qualifications not on the UCAS tariff calculator. These are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Additional requirements You will also need: GCSE English Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in English GCSE Mathematics Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics International qualifications We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications. About this course
BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, covering disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention through laboratory investigation. Core topics include Statistics, Laboratory Techniques, Clinical Skills, Data Analysis, Research Methods and Ethics & Professional Practice. The course shares a common first year with other bioscience degrees, with the option to switch specialism at the end of Year 1. It is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
