Entry requirements

A level: BBC To include Grade B in one from Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technology & Design, Design & Technology, Engineering, Electronics or Double Award Science/Applied Science. The Desirable Subject can be achieved at grade C or B. You will normally be in full-time employment in an engineering capacity regarded as satisfying the industrial training requirements of the equivalent full-time programme. You will be required to satisfy the Course Committee that you have the support of your employer for release to attend the courses. Although consideration can be given to previous experiential learning, the entry criteria for the part-time programme is in line with the equivalent full-time Mechatronic Engineering course.

About this course

BEng (Hons) in Engineering, combining electronics with mechatronics. Core topics include Circuit Design, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, and Control Systems. The course culminates in a BEng Final Year Project, where each student undertakes an individual project in collaboration with an assigned supervisor. A Global Engineer module introduces students to working in multidisciplinary teams to solve real-world problems.
