Entry requirements

GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent. Tariff points: 112 Contextual tariff: See our contextual offers page. English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*). *The University accepts a large number of UK and International Qualifications in place of IELTS. Relevant subjects: Subjects that meet the Science requirement for this course: Applied Science, Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science/Studies, Geography, Geology, Maths. Use of Maths, Physics, Psychology, Science in the Environment, Statistics. BTEC: You will need a minimum of five units in a Science subject. Baccalaureate IB: A minimum Grade 5 in a Higher Level Science subject. We accept the IB Career-related Programme in conjunction with other Level 3 qualifications. Irish Highers: H3 in a Science. Welsh Baccalaureate: We accept tariff points achieved from the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales in conjunction with other Level 3 qualifications. This qualification cannot be used to satisfy any subject specific entry requirements. Cambridge Technical: You will need a minimum of five units in a Science subject. About this course

BSc(Hons) Marine Biology, exploring the conservation of wildlife and ecosystems at local, national and global levels. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, and Ethics & Professional Practice. The course offers a sandwich placement year option and an independent research dissertation project completed under academic supervision. Fieldwork takes place in habitats including the Severn Estuary, Somerset Levels and Avon Gorge.
