Entry requirements
GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent. Tariff points: 120 Contextual tariff: See our contextual offers page. English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with 6.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*). *The university accepts a large number of UK and International Qualifications in place of IELTS. A-level subjects: Grade C in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport or Sport and Exercise. BTEC: You will need a minimum of five units in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport or Sport and Exercise. You may be asked to do more based on the size of your units. Examples of BTEC units that meet our Biology/PE requirement include: Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Nutrition, Sports Injuries, Sports and Exercise Massage, Fitness Training and Programming, Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, The Physiology of Fitness, Psychology of Sports Performance and Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology. Access: 15 Level 3 credits at Merit in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport, Sport and Exercise, or a related subject. Baccalaureate IB: A minimum Grade 5 in Higher Level Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport or Sport and Exercise. We accept the IB Career-related Programme in conjunction with other Level 3 qualifications. Irish Highers: H2 in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport, Sport and Exercise, or a related subject. Welsh Baccalaureate: We accept tariff points achieved from the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales in conjunction with other Level 3 qualifications. This qualification cannot be used to satisfy any subject specific entry requirements. Cambridge Technical: You will need a minimum of five units in Biology, Human Biology or PE. About this course
BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science. The programme requires a minimum of 400 hours of clinical placement across sport and healthcare settings. Students complete Sport Rehabilitation Practice modules across all three years, with the option to apply for BASRaT malpractice insurance after completing the first practice module. A pitch-side first-aid qualification is available as an additional certification.
