About this course

BA in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology, a history and archaeology degree focused on the history, archaeology, and art of the ancient Mediterranean. The course includes hands-on learning experiences through handling authentic ancient artefacts, archaeological fieldwork opportunities in the Mediterranean region, and participation in an annual classical play. Students examine ancient societies and cultures through written texts, visual art, and material remains, spanning grand monuments to everyday domestic residues. Core first-year modules establish foundations in approaches to Greek and Roman History and Material Culture, while optional modules provide scope to study an ancient language or explore external subjects.
