About this course

BA in Classics and English, an English and Classics degree centred on classical antiquity and its impact on English literature across the Western tradition. The course examines the interactions between classical artistic production and English literature from Shakespeare to contemporary writers, treating both subjects as a continuum. In the first and second years, studies are equally split between English and Classics with study of Latin or Greek texts in the original, while the final year allows students to weight modules towards either subject. Students study a range of modules each year to pursue areas of particular academic interest.
