About this course
BA in English and Hispanic Studies, a joint honours degree spanning the study of English and Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies. The course includes a core Spanish language module in every year of study alongside English literature and comparative literature. Students normally spend their second or third year abroad, and a final-year dissertation option is available. Intermediate and final years provide access to a wide range of optional modules covering literature, critical theory, history, politics, linguistics, philosophy and film. Spanish can be studied from beginner, post-beginner or advanced levels, and the first year introduces Hispanic culture through literature, film, politics and art alongside English literary traditions.
