About this course
BA in Hispanic Studies and Theatre Studies, a joint degree in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies and Drama blending language study with performance analysis. Students study Spanish from beginner, post-beginner or advanced levels alongside core and optional topics including historiography, applied theatre, and playwriting. The four-year course normally includes a year abroad spent working, studying at a partner institution, or acting as a language assistant in Spain, the Caribbean, or South America. Students divide their time equally between Hispanic Studies and Theatre Studies departments. The curriculum explores Hispanic cultures, history, and politics across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Pacific alongside theatre in European and African contexts. Teaching draws on facilities at Warwick Arts Centre, providing access to multi-artform venues and performance-based student societies.
