About this course
BA in Linguistics with Modern Languages, a joint honours degree spanning English Language and Linguistics and French and Francophone Studies, explores how language functions in communication and society while developing written and spoken proficiency in languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish. Students dedicate approximately 25 per cent of coursework to language study through the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, with options to focus on a single language or study multiple languages. The course duration is three or four years full-time, with an optional intercalated year abroad available.
