BSc Children's Nursing with Foundation
Entry requirements
32 UCAS points required from level 3 qualifications. GCSE English and Maths (grade 9 – 4 / A* - C) or Level 2 equivalents. Please note - successful completion of the foundation year is required, to progress to year 1 of the course. If your prior qualifications were awarded overseas and you intend to satisfy Level 2 English language requirements through an English Proficiency Test, you must achieve scores comparable to IELTS 7.0 in speaking, reading and listening and 6.5 in writing.
About this course
BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child) is a four-year undergraduate degree preparing students to register as children's nurses. Core topics include clinical skills, research methods, communication, ethics and professional practice, and human behaviour. The course includes an integrated foundation year for applicants who do not meet the standard entry criteria, followed by three years of study with clinical placements in inpatient and community settings. Successful completion leads to eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a children's nurse.
