About this course

BA (Hons) Business of the Creative Industries, a degree spanning business management and film studies, explores enterprise operations across the cultural sector. Core topics include programming and design & creative practice. Students can undertake an optional internship or year in industry with organisations such as Disney and Warner Bros. The first year establishes fundamental concepts through modules including Content Development, Creative Business Leadership, Creative Materials, and Introduction to Screen Production Methods. The second year focuses on enterprise operations with compulsory study in Creative Business Methods: Finance and the Law, Creative Business Strategies, Creative Event Production, and Marketing and Branding. Optional modules in the second year allow study in areas such as audio editing, creative producing, and interactive media and society. The final year involves core investigations through Individual Project, Research and Data in the Creative Industries, and Group Project. Optional modules in the final year span topics such as advanced producing for film and television, gaming: industry and culture, and the future of story: storytelling in the digital age.
