About this course

BA (Hons) Business and Society (with a year in industry), an undergraduate degree in Social Policy and Business Management. Core topics include Research Methods, Policy Analysis, Entrepreneurship, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students complete a professional placement year in industry between the second and final years. The first year covers core foundations through Economy and Society, Introduction to Business Ethics and Sustainability, Contemporary Issues in Social and Public Policy, and Research and Information Critically. The second year introduces The Policy Think Tank, Business Planning and Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Capitalism and the Public Good, and Social Inequalities. The final year includes compulsory study through Management in the Twenty-First Century, an Independent Study Module, and a Dissertation. Optional modules allow specialisation in areas such as Leadership in Practice, Housing and Homelessness: Overcoming Inequality, Strategic Management of Risk, and Business Consultancy Project.
