About this course
BA (Hons) in Education and German (with a year abroad), an undergraduate degree within the field of Education and German (with a year abroad). Core topics include Research Methods. Students spend the third year abroad studying at another institution or completing a work placement or internship in a German-speaking environment. The first year introduces foundational subjects through modules such as Researching Education, Key Concepts in Education, and German Language and Cultures: Upper intermediate. The second year continues language development and methodological training with German Language and Cultures: Advanced and Educational Research Methods, alongside optional modules covering topics such as children's literature, teaching English as a foreign language, and education policy. The final year involves advanced study including Empirical Education Dissertation and German Language and Cultures: Proficient, complemented by optional choices spanning translation methodology, global development, and environmental education.
