About this course

BA (Hons) Education and Italian (with a year abroad), an Education and Italian (with a year abroad) degree examining pedagogical concepts alongside language acquisition. Core topics include Research Methods. Students spend the third year abroad studying at another university or undertaking an Italian-speaking work placement or internship. The first year introduces foundational themes through Researching Education, Key Concepts in Education, Cultural and Creative Approaches to Education, Intensive Italian Language and Cultures: Beginner, Understanding Italian-speaking Cultures and Societies, Understanding Language in the Real World, and Structure of English. The second year advances linguistic and analytical skills via Italian Language and Cultures: Advanced and Educational Research Methods, while offering optional modules such as Teaching English as a foreign language I, Education Policy and its Impacts, and Sociology of Childhood and Youth.
