A level: AAB including at least one of French or Spanish IB: 35 points including 5 in at least one of French or Spanish, at Higher Level. BTEC: DDD. An A Level or equivalent qualification in either French or Spanish will be required.

About this course

BA (Hons) French and Spanish (with a year abroad), a French and Francophone Studies and Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies degree focusing on linguistic proficiency, society, politics and culture. The first year covers initial competencies through French Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate, Spanish Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate, Understanding Language in the Real World, and Understanding French-speaking Cultures and Societies. The second year progresses with French Language and Cultures: Advanced and Spanish Language and Cultures: Advanced, alongside optional modules covering topics such as cinema and sociolinguistics. The fourth year involves advanced study including French Language and Cultures: Proficient and Spanish Language and Cultures: Proficient. Students spend the third year abroad on a work placement, internship, or study period at a partner institution.
