A level: AAB including German IB: 35 points including 5 in German at Higher Level. BTEC: DDD. An A level or equivalent qualification in German will be required.

BA (Hons) German and Italian (with a year abroad), a German and Italian degree focusing on language proficiency, society, politics and culture. This four-year full-time course includes a mandatory year spent studying at a partner institution or undertaking a work placement abroad. The first year covers initial competencies through compulsory modules such as German Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate, Intensive Italian Language and Cultures: Beginner, Understanding Language in the Real World, Understanding German-speaking Cultures and Societies, and Understanding Italian-speaking Cultures and Societies, alongside optional choices like English Past and Present or Phonetics and Phonology. The second year advances linguistic ability with compulsory modules including German Language and Cultures: Advanced and Italian Language and Cultures: Advanced, while offering optional modules such as The Berlin Republic or The Role of Art in Italian Society.
