A level: AAB You do not need an A level in History of Art or a language IB: 35 points BTEC: DDD We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: Distinction, Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma plus A at A Level Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate plus AA at A level Distinction, Distinction in 2 BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates plus A at A level
About this course
BA (Hons) BA (Hons) History of Art with French (with a year abroad) is an undergraduate degree in Modern Languages and History of Art. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a compulsory year abroad spent studying at a partner institution or undertaking a work placement or internship, and a final-year dissertation. The first year covers core foundations through Transmissions and Connections, Art History Now, The Practices of Art History, and French Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate. The second year builds on these foundations with Art and Its Institutions and Research Skills for Art History. Optional modules allow students to explore topics such as Art Law, Surrealism: Art and Liberty, and The English Country House. The fourth year requires the completion of the BA Dissertation and advanced language study through French Language and Cultures: Proficient.
