About this course

BA (Hons) BA (Hons) History of Art with Spanish (with a year abroad) is an undergraduate degree in Modern Languages and History of Art. Core topics include Research Methods. This four-year course includes a year abroad spent studying at a partner university or undertaking a work placement, and concludes with a compulsory BA Dissertation in the final year. The first year introduces fundamentals through compulsory modules such as Transmissions and Connections, Art History Now, The Practices of Art History, and Spanish Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate. The second year continues with core subjects like Art and Its Institutions and Research Skills for Art History, while offering optional modules covering topics such as Art Law, Surrealism: Art and Liberty, and World Cinemas: Representing National and Transnational Societies and Cultures.
