About this course

BA (Hons) Italian and Linguistics (with a year abroad), a joint honours degree spanning English Language and Linguistics and Italian. This four-year full-time course includes a year abroad spent studying at a partner institution, undertaking a work placement, or completing an internship. The first year covers initial competencies through compulsory modules such as Intensive Italian Language and Cultures: Beginners, Language and the Mind, Understanding Language in the Real World, and Understanding Italian-speaking Cultures and Societies, with optional studies available in subjects like Phonetics and Phonology. Year 2 advances capabilities through Italian Language and Cultures: Advanced and Foundations of Meaning, alongside optional choices including Sociolinguistics and Teaching English as a Foreign Language I.
