About this course

BA (Hons) Liberal Arts with Spanish (with a year abroad) is a liberal arts degree focusing on interdisciplinary study combined with Spanish language and culture. Core topics include Data Analysis. This four-year course includes a year abroad spent studying at a partner university or undertaking a work placement or internship, though students can alternatively graduate after three years without this period abroad. The first year establishes foundational knowledge through compulsory modules such as Discovering the Humanities, Bridging the Humanities, and Intensive Spanish Language and Cultures: Beginner. Students also select from a broad range of optional modules covering subjects like archaeology, music, philosophy, and history. The second year continues language development with Spanish Language and Cultures: Advanced and Real World Humanities, alongside further optional modules. The final fourth year features compulsory advanced language study including Spanish Language and Cultures: Proficient, Latinos in the USA, and Independent Study in Languages and Cultures.
