A level: AAB IB: 35 points BTEC: DDD We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: Distinction, Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma plus A at A Level Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate plus AA at A level Distinction, Distinction in 2 BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates plus A at A level
About this course
BA (Hons) Philosophy with French (with a year abroad), an undergraduate degree spanning French and Francophone Studies and Philosophy. The course includes a compulsory year abroad spent at a partner university or on a work placement or internship, and offers students the option to complete a three-year pathway without the year abroad. The first year covers core philosophical foundations and language acquisition through modules such as Knowledge and Perception, Logic, Ethics, and French Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate. The second year progresses to advanced linguistic study alongside optional philosophical topics including Aesthetics, Applied Ethics, and Metaphysics. The final year involves further language proficiency and specialised options such as Buddhism as Philosophy, Consciousness, and Topics in Feminist Philosophy.
