A level: AAB IB: 35 points BTEC: DDD We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: Distinction, Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma plus A at A Level Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate plus AA at A level Distinction, Distinction in 2 BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates plus A at A level
About this course
BA (Hons) Philosophy with German (with a year abroad) is a four-year undergraduate degree in German and Philosophy. Students spend the third year abroad studying at a partner institution or undertaking a work placement or internship. The course also offers optional in-house TEFL training for an additional teaching qualification. The first year covers core foundations through Knowledge and Perception, Logic, Ethics, and Philosophical Analysis, alongside German language and culture modules. The second year builds proficiency through German Language and Cultures: Advanced, while offering optional modules such as Aesthetics, Applied Ethics, and Metaphysics. The final year involves advanced language study through German Language and Cultures: Proficient, alongside a broad selection of philosophy and cultural options including Consciousness, Contemporary Issues in Bioethics, and Modern German Language: Context, Trends & Conflicts.
