About this course

BA (Hons) in Social Psychology, a social psychology degree examining the dynamic relationship between individuals and their social environment. Core topics include Research Methods. Students can choose to add a placement year or a year abroad to their studies. The first year introduces the academic area through compulsory modules such as Living in Digital Cultures, Foundations in Social Psychology, Explaining Crime and Deviance, and Investigating Social Problems. The second year builds on this foundation with compulsory study in Critical Social Psychology, Doing Research, Creative Social Psychology, and Social Interaction and Conversation Analysis, alongside optional modules covering topics like health, digital cultures, and the criminal justice system. The final year involves core exploration through Contemporary Social Psychology and culminates in an Undergraduate Dissertation or an Undergraduate Creative Project. Optional modules in the final year allow specialisation in areas such as race and injustice, AI in society, and urban cultures.
