A level: ABB IB: 34 points overall BTEC: DDM We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. About this course
BA (Hons) Sociology with Social Psychology, a sociology degree centred on the intersection of social structures and individual psychological behaviour. Core topics include Research Methods. Students can choose to add an optional placement year or a year abroad to their degree. The first year covers the foundations through Cultivating a Sociological Imagination, Foundations in Social Psychology, Explaining Crime and Deviance, and Investigating Social Problems. The second year focuses on applied analysis through Critical Social Psychology, Doing Research, and Creative Social Psychology. Optional modules in later years allow students to explore topics such as Health and Illness, Popular Culture, Media and Society, Race and Injustice, and Global Justice, Health and Wellbeing. The course concludes with an Undergraduate Dissertation.
