A level: AAB IB: 35 points BTEC: DDD We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: Distinction, Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma plus A at A Level Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate plus AA at A level Distinction, Distinction in 2 BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates plus A at A level
About this course
BA (Hons) Spanish and Linguistics (with a year abroad), an undergraduate degree spanning English Language and Linguistics and Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies. The programme includes a mandatory year abroad spent studying at a partner university or undertaking a work placement or internship. Students also have the option to transfer to a three-year degree without the year abroad. The first year builds foundational knowledge through compulsory modules such as Language and the Mind, Understanding Language in the Real World, and Spanish Language and Cultures: Upper Intermediate, alongside optional modules like Phonetics and Phonology. The second year advances proficiency with Spanish Language and Cultures: Advanced and Foundations of Meaning, while offering choices such as Sociolinguistics and Acoustic Phonetics and Phonological Analysis. The final year centers on Spanish Language and Cultures: Proficient, complemented by specialized options including Psycholinguistics: Language Processing, Bilingualism, and an Independent Study in Languages and Cultures.
