About this course
BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering (with a foundation year) is an undergraduate electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on engineering principles and practical applications. Core topics include Programming, Circuit Design, Signal Processing, and Data Analysis. The course includes a foundation year covering mathematics and physics to A level standard, and holds accreditation from the IET. The foundation year features compulsory modules such as Mathematics 1, Physics 1, and Skills for Engineering and the Physical Sciences 1. Year one introduces core concepts through Introduction to Engineering, Programming and Digital Interfacing, Mathematics, and Digital Electronics. Year two advances technical abilities via Mathematics, Signals and Systems, Electronic Engineering Project, Circuit Design, and Control, Sensors and Instrumentation. Year three includes Communications, Systems and Digital Communications alongside an Individual Final Project. Optional modules allow students to explore areas such as Cloud and Distributed Computing, Renewable Power Generation, and Biomedical Engineering.
