A level: ABB including Maths. IB: 34 points overall with grade 5 in Higher Level Mathematics - Applications and Interpretation or 5 in Higher Level or Standard Level Mathematics - Analysis and Approaches. BTEC: We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: DDM in the BTEC National Extended Diploma plus A level Maths grade B DD in the BTEC National Diploma in any subject plus A level Maths grade B D in the BTEC National Extended Certificate plus AB at A level including Mathematics We consider BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/ Extended Diploma with Unit 7- Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems and Unit 8- Further Engineering Mathematics in place of A Level Mathematics.

About this course

BEng (Hons) Engineering is an undergraduate biomedical engineering degree exploring electronic, electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic principles. Core topics include Programming, Signal Processing, and Engineering Design. The course is fully accredited by the IET and counts towards the training requirements for Chartered Engineer status. The first year covers foundational concepts through Introduction to Engineering, Programming and Digital Interfacing, Mathematics, and Engineering Project 1. The second year progresses with Mathematics, Signals and Systems, Engineering Project 2, Manufacturing and Fabrication, and Control, Sensors and Instrumentation. The final year includes Principles of Micro-Engineering and an Individual Final Project. Students can tailor their studies by choosing from optional modules such as Renewable Power Generation, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics Design and Construction, and Medical Physics.
