Entry requirements

A level: ABB including a science subject. We will accept the following A level subjects as a science: Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology and Statistics. IB: 34 including 5 in one science at Higher Level BTEC: DDM including sufficient science units We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: Distinction, Merit in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma plus B at A Level Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate plus BB at A level Distinction, Merit in 2 BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates plus B at A level Your combination of qualifications must meet the essential subject requirements for the course. About this course

BMid (Hons) in BMid (Hons) Midwifery, a midwifery degree centred on clinical practice and maternity care. The course involves an equal split between academic study and clinical placements in regional NHS Trusts, leading to eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The first year covers the foundations through Universal Midwifery Care: Antenatal, Universal Midwifery Care: Intrapartum, Universal Midwifery Care: Postnatal, Establishing Professional Self in Midwifery, and Midwifery Practice Learning 1. The second year progresses through Advancing Universal Midwifery Care, Evidence-based Midwifery Care, Complexities in Maternity Care, Developing Professional Self in Midwifery, and Midwifery Practice Learning 2. The third year builds toward graduation with Emergencies in Maternity Care, Autonomous Midwifery: Leadership and Practice, Strengthening Professional Self in Midwifery, Leading and Managing Change in Midwifery, Midwifery Practice Learning 3, and Progression to Professional Register: Midwifery.
