About this course

BSc (Hons) in Film and Television Production, a photography and media degree focusing on the technical and creative aspects of screen production. Core topics include Programming, Research Methods. The course carries the ScreenSkills Select quality-mark and is part of the BAFTA albert Education Partnership, incorporating health and safety training through the Mark Milsome Foundation Film and TV Online Safety Passport. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Story, Film and Television Analysis, and Content Development. The second year introduces practical filmmaking and analysis via Studio Production, The Discipline of Genre, and Non Fiction Forms of Film & Television, alongside optional pathways including Business for Screen and Audio Editing. The third year centres on large-scale collaborative work and independent study through the Individual Research Project, Film and Television Group Projects - Pre-Production, and Film and Television Group Projects - Production and Delivery, with further specialisation available via options such as Advanced Cinematography and Advanced Directing.
