About this course
BSc (Hons) Interactive Media is an undergraduate film studies degree focused on digital culture, technology and media practice. Core topics include Programming and Design & Creative Practice. The course includes project-based assessments and offers two distinct entry routes in the first year depending on prior programming experience. The first year introduces foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Story for Interactive Media, Introduction to Digital Culture, Developing Interactive Media, and Programming for Digital Media. The second year shifts towards societal contexts and practical application with compulsory modules including Interactive Media and Society, User Experience Design, and Interactive Media Group Project. Students can tailor their studies in the second and third years by choosing from optional modules such as Game Design & Development in Real-Time Engines, Web Application Design and Development, Advanced Interaction Techniques & Technologies, and Mobile Interaction. The final year centres on the Interactive Media Individual Project.
