A level: AAB including A in Mathematics IB: 35 points overall, including 6 in Mathematics at Higher Level (either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations) BTEC: DDD plus grade A in A level Mathematics (or equivalent qualification) We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. About this course

BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Philosophy, a mathematics and philosophy degree focused on the shared foundations of both disciplines. Core topics include Mathematical Modelling and Research Methods. The course is studied over three years full-time. The first year covers foundational concepts through modules such as Foundations and Calculus, Introduction to Pure Mathematics, Multivariable Calculus and Matrices, Logic, Knowledge and Perception, Metaphysics and Humans, and Ethics. The second year introduces compulsory study in Metric Spaces, Logic and Paradox, Groups, Rings and Fields, and Linear Algebra, alongside optional modules covering topics like Aesthetics, Applied Ethics, and Philosophy of Mind. The final year includes compulsory study in Foundations of Maths, alongside an Extended Independent Project in Maths, Long Dissertation in Philosophy, or Short Dissertation. Optional modules in the final year allow specialisation in areas such as Topology, Number Theory, Philosophy of Physics, and Theories of Social Justice: Rawls and Beyond.
