Entry requirements
A level: AAB including Mathematics A Level IB: 35 points with a minimum grade of 5 points in Higher level or 7 in Standard Level Mathematics (either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations). BTEC: DDD including Mathematics or in conjunction with an acceptable alternative Level 3 Mathematics qualification
About this course
BSc (Hons) Philosophy, Politics and Economics is a degree spanning Economics, Politics and International Relations, and Philosophy. Core topics include Statistics, Research Methods, and Policy Analysis. The programme offers students the opportunity to undertake an optional placement year or a year abroad. The first year covers core foundations through modules such as Principles of Economics, Maths for Economists, Probability and Statistics, and Power and Consent. The second year focuses on advanced theory with modules including Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Analysis and Policy, Econometric Analysis, and Topics in PPE. Optional modules across the programme allow specialisation in areas such as applied ethics, international economics, monetary economics, and global politics. The final year culminates in a compulsory PPE dissertation.
