Entry requirements

A level: AAA including at least one science. A second science subject may be desirable but is not essential. We include Biology, Chemistry, Further Maths, Maths, Physics, Psychology and Statistics as science subjects. For other possible science subjects please contact the admissions tutor. IB: 36 points including 6 in one Higher Level science subject, which may include Psychology. A second science subject may be desirable but is not essential. BTEC: DDD in a science subject We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. For example: Distinction, Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma plus A at A Level Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate plus AA at A level Distinction, Distinction in 2 BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificates plus A at A level A science subject is essential.

About this course

BSc (Hons) Psychology, a psychology degree centred on the scientific study of the mind, brain and behaviour. Core topics include Research Methods. The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society. The first year covers foundations through Brain and Behaviour I, Perception and Cognition I, Language and Development I, and Research Methods in Psychology I. The second year continues with Brain and Behaviour II, Perception and Cognition II, and Research Methods in Psychology II, alongside optional topics such as Psychology of Wellbeing. The final year centres on the compulsory Final Year Project and offers a wide range of optional modules including Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Clinical Psychology and Applications of CBT, Animal Cognition and Communication, and Cyberpsychology.
