Entry requirements

A level: ABB including two of the following science subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology or Life and Health Sciences IB: 34 points including two of the following science subjects at Higher Level: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Mathematics (either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations), Physics, Psychology or Life and Health Sciences BTEC: DDM We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. About this course

MEnv (Hons) Environmental Science (with a placement year), an environmental science degree centred on natural systems and human impacts. Core topics include Research Methods, Fieldwork, Environmental Analysis, and Global & Comparative Perspective. The course is accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences and includes a professional placement year. The first year covers the foundations through Environmental Chemistry, Ecological Principles, and Dynamic Earth. The second year introduces Climate Science, Applied Environmental Science, and Research Skills and Project Design, alongside optional modules such as Megacities and Urbanisation and Geographical Information Systems. Year 4 involves compulsory study in Research Project and Frontiers in Environmental Science, with optional topics including Energy Transitions and Low Carbon Futures and Pollution: Monitoring, Assessment and Control. The final year comprises the MEnv Dissertation, Environmental Management in Practice, and optional areas such as Ecotoxicology and Environmental Health and Climate Science and Policy.
